issue #43 - the one from an insane week
What a week.
I hope you got some rest and downtime this weekend. Me? I nursed my cold with tons of TheraFlu, lemon water, naps, and binge watching the Hillary documentary and season 2 of Ugly Delicious (the Don’t Call It Curry episode is BRILLIANT).
If you're in New York, I hope you can join me, Ashley Spivey, and Kimmery Martin to talk about her new book (The Antidote To Everything) at WORD on Monday night.
If this is your first e-mail from me, welcome! In addition to writing the book How To Pack, I'm an entrepreneur and angel investor, an avid reader, and a mom of two boys (a 4 year old and a 9 month old).
Every Saturday, I share the 25 best reads from the Internet (culled from the daily shares on my Instagram), the books I've read that week, and things I'm generally loving at the moment. You can join the conversation on all these articles - and more! - in my Facebook group.

#ThingsILove This Week
Some fun interviews I did just launched! I shared the details of my 20’s with Twenty2, the ins and outs of working in healthcare with When She Founded, and all the things with Momentum Radio.
My COVID-19 prevention/preparation recommendations: to wash your hands frequently with soap and warm water (and reapplying hand cream aggressively), use hand sanitizer if you can’t get to a bathroom in time, and talk to your doctor about adding a powerful antioxidant supplement to your routine (oxidative stress can weaken the immune system, so a healthy diet and supplements WILL help). Also, rest. Lots of rest.
I got sucked down the Love Is Blind black hole, and I have so many thoughts. ANYONE ELSE?
Things I own and love (and have loved extra hard this week) - the sweatpants and top I lived in this week, the overnight mask that’s kept my skin in decent shape, this lap desk for nighttime work sessions on the couch, so many cups of this tea, and Taco Bell for multiple meals and curling up under my favorite Taco Bell blanket.
Have I finished my current needlepoint project? No. Did I buy a beginner weaving kit and this project anyway? Yes.
If you’re going to watch the Hillary Clinton documentary on Hulu (which is excellent!), please also listen to Monica Lewinsky’s interview on Armchair Expert (also excellent).
We’re giving our balcony and my parents’ living room a zhush this year, with some help from Havenly! I’ve already ordered some of Grace’s favorite bookshelves (since my book overflow has started to take over that room). Other items I have my eye on - this cabinet for my mother’s home temple, floating shelves above their wet bar, and this set for the balcony.
What I read this week
A quick note - I hope you reserve the books I recommend from your local library, or purchase them from your favorite independent bookstore or the audiobook fromLibro.fm.
I re-read the Eighteen Acres trilogy (full review here), because this week was long and I needed a comforting re-read.
Current book reviewshere, and here are all my random Amazon favorites.
