Abigail on the Stanley cup, Joanna Goddard, and Uniqlo

Abigail is the Brooklyn based founder of This Needs Hot Sauce, a food newsletter and community. She works in PR for some of the coolest food and lifestyle brands and is leaning into Gentle January with lots of cozy nights cooking and watching TV.

Raise your hand if you've canceled plans because you're tired. Or gone and wished that you had. It sucks to feel like you don't have the attention and energy to give to your friends. But, like most touchy subjects, it gets easier if you talk about it.

Things like adjusting plans, communicating clearly and leaning into lowkey hangs help so much.

This weekend, my friends and I went to Trader Joe's and watched a movie on the couch. Errand hangs are a to-do list buster and good for the soul.

Julia Reinstein is one of my best friends AND a super talented reporter. She spoke to moms, teachers, and tweens themselves about this Stanley trend and it's well worth a read.

Trends can get so easily sensationalized and I love how Julia went right to the people this Stanley craze is affecting directly.

It's been snowy in New York City and icy around the country. These conditions are dangerous, and who absorbs that danger?

In many cases, it's restaurant workers and delivery drivers. Read this story about restaurant workers in Portland and please be mindful about how you treat people, always and especially in climate emergencies.

I've been a Cup of Jo reader for well over ten years at this point, checking it daily for new posts. Her posts have been a preview and roadmap for adulthood and the comments section is unparalleled.

Cup of Jo is also big business and Joanna Goddard is both a brilliant writer and a CEO. I love how this conversation with Elle's Madison Feller, touched on career lessons and life lessons, which are so intertwined.

A fun final read on the bag I'm absolutely obsessed with. I first got it in 2022 before a trip to London and the cost per wear is in the pennies by now (if not lower). It somehow fits way more than you expect, including a small water bottle, and can work in so many outfit situations.

I have converted many friends which means we all have to check we take the right bag when we're hanging out together.

Best of all, this bag is only $20!
